Overview

A new name, a one-colour identity and a bag you can read from across the shop.

The brief

Ostwind roasts in small lots and sold them in four different bags. Each one told a different story about the company. They asked us for one story and a bag to carry it.

What we made

A wordmark cut from a single grotesk, a strict grid for the label, and one colour per roast level. The bag is black, the information is white, and the roast is the only thing that gets colour.

How it went

We printed sixty test bags in the first three weeks and put them on the shelf next to the old ones. The roasters picked the winner, not us.

In their words

We stopped explaining who we are. The bag does it now.
